What it is
The Groove Library makes mixes and themed music collections, drawn from all over the world. Each mix comes with tracklists and context so you know what you're listening to.
From Easton to West Wales
The Groove Library grew out of Easton Chop Up, a mix series and an occasional night that ran for over ten years in Easton, Bristol. Late nights, good records, and a room where people came to listen and dance.
When life moved to West Wales, the music came too. The Easton Chop Up archive is still here as the foundation.
Mixes, libraries, and everything else
Each library is organised around a place, a genre, or a mood, and new ones get added as the collection grows.
Alongside the mixes there is a journal of deep dives and field notes.
Every artist I've played turns up on the artists page, link or no link.
DJ nights are the plan, in person and possibly online too. If you have a room, or want to hear about the first one, drop me a line.
Rooted local, connected wide
Based in Carmarthenshire, West Wales. A long way from the cities where most of this music was made, but connected to the people and scenes behind it.
